ESSENTIAL
QUALIFICATIONS: -
(i)
Bachelor’s Degree in Law of a recognized
University or institute,
(ii)
Hindi as an elective or compulsory
subject at the Senior Secondary (12th) level from a recognized Board or
Institute;
(iii)
English as a compulsory subject at
Senior Secondary (12th) level from a recognized Board or Institute; And
(iv)
(a) Translation in Hindi of deeds, agreement, Bills,
Acts, Rules, Regulations and Orders, in the Central Government or State
Government or Union Territory Administration or Public Sector Undertakings or Autonomous
or Statutory Bodies or Recognized Institutes or Universities for a period of
three years; or
(b) Editing and translation in Hindi of High Court or
Supreme Court judgments for three years; or
(c) Post Graduate Diploma in translation from an Institute
recognized by the Central Government or State Government.
NOTE-: The qualifications
are relaxable at the discretion of the Union Public Service Commission for
reasons to be recorded in writing, in case of candidates otherwise well
qualified.
DESIRABLE: Master Degree in
Law from a recognised University or Institute.

DUTIES:
(i) Translation of selected judgments of Supreme
Court of India and various
High Courts from English to Hindi. (ii)
Preparation of Head-Notes of translated judgments. (iii)
Preparation of index and digests. (iv) Checking
of citations from Indian and Foreign Law Reports.
(v) Proof reading and scrutiny of Patrikas. (vi)
To report to the Assistant Editor and the
Editor/Branch Officer of the Unit regarding
translating/editing task. (vii) Any other work related to
the Patrikas with the consultation of Editor/Chief
Editor or higher Officers of the Department. HQ: New Delhi.

Service is Rs. 56100-177500 in the 10th level
of matrix of 7th CPC Revised Corresponding Pay Matrix and Pay Level.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: -
A
candidate shall be. Eligible to appear in the examination if he / she is
A.
a citizen of India;
B.
a person practising as an Advocate in India or a person
qualified to be admitted as an Advocate under the Advocates Act, 1961; and
C.
not more than 32 years of age as on the 1st day
of January following the date of commencement of the examination

SCHEME AND SYLLABUS
दिल्ली न्यायिक सेवा परीक्षा
दो उत्तरोत्तर चरणों में होगी :
Delhi Judicial Service
Examination will be held in two successive stages:
- दिल्ली न्यायिक सेवा प्रारंभिक परीक्षा (25% नकारात्मक अंकों सहित वस्तुनिष्ठ प्रकार की), मुख्य परीक्षा में चयन हेतु
Delhi Judicial Service Preliminary Examination (Objective
Type with 25% negative marking) for selection for the Main Examination, and
- दिल्ली न्यायिक सेवा मुख्य परीक्षा (लिखित), मौखिक परीक्षा में बुलाये जाने हेतु अभ्यर्थियों के चयन हेतु
Delhi Judicial Service Main Examination (Written) for selection of candidates for calling for Viva-voce.

प्रारम्भिक परीक्षा एक प्रकार का स्क्रीनिंग टेस्ट होगा जिसमें
अनेक वस्तुनिष्ठ प्रकार के प्रश्नों वाला एक 200 अंकों का पेपर होगा। The Preliminary Examination will be a Screening Test and will
consist of one paper of multiple objective type questions carrying maximum of
200 marks.

इस प्रश्न पत्र के दो भाग होंगे This paper shall comprise
of two sections. Section I General Knowledge सामान्य ज्ञान : इसके द्वारा सामयिक विषयों इत्यादि के बारे में अभ्यर्थी की जानकारी की जांच की जाएगी। This is to test the
candidate's knowledge of current affairs etc. Section II Language भाषा Essay, Translation and Precis Writing : निबन्ध, अनुवाद एवं सारांश लेखन कला :
इसके द्वारा अभ्यर्थी की अंग्रेजी में अभिव्यक्ति एवं ज्ञान की जांच की जाएगी। This is to test the
candidate's knowledge and power of expression in English.
Credit will be given both
for substance and expression. Conversely, deduction will be made for bad
expression, faults of grammar and misuse of words etc. There will be two
passages for translation, one in English which will be required to be
translated into Hindi (in Devnagri Script). The Second passage in Hindi (in
Devnagri Script) shall be required to be translated into English. अभ्यर्थी की गुण सम्पन्नता पर विचार करने में सारांश एवं अभिव्यक्ति दोनों का आंकलन किया जायेगा। इसके विपरीत खराब अभिव्यक्ति, व्याकरण दोष तथा शब्दों इत्यादि के कुप्रयोग करने पर अंकों में कटौती की जायेगी। अनुवाद करने हेतु दो उद्वरण दिये जायेंगे जिनमें से एक अंग्रेजी में होगा जिसका हिन्दी (देवनागरी लिपि में) अनुवाद अपेक्षित होगा। दूसरा उद्वरण हिन्दी (देवनागरी लिपि में) होगा जिसका अंग्रेजी में अनुवाद किया जाना अपेक्षित होगा।

मौखिक परीक्षा/Viva-Voce:

मौखिक परीक्षा के 150
अंक होंगे। मौखिक परीक्षा के लिए केवल उन्ही अभ्यर्थीगण को बुलाया जाएगा जिन्हें
प्रत्येक प्रश्न पत्र में न्यूनतम 40 प्रतिशत अंक और कुल मिलाकर 50 प्रतिशत अंक
प्राप्त हुए हों। किन्तु जहाँ तक आरक्षित कोटियों के उम्मीदवारों अर्थात
अनुसूचित जातियों, अनुसूचित
जनजातियों, तथा
शारीरिक रूप से अपंग (दृष्टिहीन/अल्प दृष्टि) (गतिशीलता बाधित न हो)/विकलांगों
का सम्बन्ध है उन्हें उत्तीर्ण होने के लिए प्रत्येक लिखित प्रश्न-पत्र में
न्यूनतम 35 प्रतिशत अंक तथा कुल मिलाकर 45 प्रतिशत अंक प्राप्त करने होंगे। Viva-voce
will carry 150 marks. Only
such candidates will be called for Viva-voce who have obtained 40%
marks in each written paper and 50%
marks in aggregate except in the case of
candidates belonging to reserved categores i.e. Scheduled Castes, Scheduled
Tribes and Physically Handicapped (Blind/Low Vision) (mobility not to be
restricted)/Orthopaedically in whose case the qualifying marks shall be 35%
in each written paper and 45%
in the aggregate. |
